There may be times when you want to alert all users of an upcoming system event like an upgrade. You can do this using the alert system.
From the home page or dashboard, click the Show All button in the Alerts panel.
Click the Add User Alert button.
From the To list, select All. Selecting "all" is what makes this a system-wide alert as opposed to a message to a specific group or user.
Enter an expiration date in Expires After.
Enter the text of the message to be displayed to all users.
Click Save.
All users will see the message scroll in the dashboard header (1) and will also see it in their list of alerts (2).
