Investigations gives multiple investigators within a lab the ability to enter multiple narratives about a case. Each narrative is date and time stamped and cannot be edited.
To add an Investigation, from the Investigation screen select Add Investigation from the left side of the screen.
From the Add Investigation window, enter a Description (1) of the Investigation, the Investigation Type (2), Performer (3), and Date (4). Click Save to save and close the form, Save and Add Another to enter another Investigation, or Cancel to cancel your entry.
You can relate a Crime Scene, Individual, or Request to your Investigation by selecting the appropriate icon in the bottom left corner and then selecting from the current case entities (5).
Once your Investigation is added, you can add Narrative entries by selecting the Add Narrative icon from the grid. From this window, you will enter the Narrative Type, Reporting Investigator, and Comment (unlimited text field). Click Save to save and close, Save and add Another to enter another narrative, or Cancel to cancel your narrative entry.
At any time, you can select Edit in your Investigation grid to view the current narrative entries with date/time stamps and/or edit the initial Investigation information.
You can also Delete your Narrative, Add Attachments, or View Mapping of related entities by clicking the appropriate icon within the grid for your Investigation.
